Gagliardi Fund

The Gagliardi Fund  raises money to support the SJU football program's long-term stability and immediate needs. It is named in honor of the legendary John Gagliardi, SJU's football coach from 1953 to 2012, who accumulated a record 489 wins and four national championships during his tenure. 

Agency Account

Money raised for the program's Agency Account provide resources for immediate operational or strategic requirements within the football program.  

 

Sources of money to this account typically come from the annual Go Johnnies Challenge, proceeds from the annual Golf Tournament, and other events and activities aimed at rising money for this account.

NIL

NIL stands for Name, Image, and Likeness. It’s the rule that allows college athletes to use who they are — their name, their photo, and their status as athletes — to earn money or other opportunities outside of their school.

NIL is especially important because it gives them the chance to:

  • Run camps, lessons, or clinics.

  • Partner with local businesses or sponsors.

  • Promote products or services on social media.

  • Create and sell their own gear, art, or content.

Why it matters: NIL helps athletes benefit from their hard work, talent, and personal brand, while still protecting the amateur, educational spirit of D3 sports. It also gives fans and local communities a way to directly support the athletes they love.
